About Us

Our Story

When Darren and Lucy Golding established Golding Wines and put their first vintage to bottle in 2002 they did so with confidence knowing that the fruit sourced from the family vineyard Darren had planted with his parents Greg and Connie, seven years earlier was coming into its own.

Today their now expanded Western Branch Vineyard, located in the Lenswood appellation of the Adelaide Hills remains at the very heart of their business. It is the exclusive fruit source for the Golding Wines range, and the home of their busy cellar door and functions business.

"We are passionate about our life and work in this dynamic cool climate region and firmly feel our sense of place here. Our family have been working the land in these Hills for three generations.

Our focus has always been on creating expressive and approachable cool climate wines. The style of wine that we like to drink and share with friends: wines that ultimately speak of our place here in the Hills.

Our philosophy is simple; great wines taste even better when shared in beautiful surrounds. So we set out with a vision to create a beautiful space for our guests to enjoy. Our cellar door and garden unfolds as the backdrop to a place perfect for sharing the good things: great wine and food in the company of others.

We invite you to join us in the experience".

Our Place

Golding Wines is situated on the outskirts of Lobethal, within the Lenswood appellation, high in the picturesque Adelaide Hills.

At our Western Branch Vineyard you can leave the bitumen behind you and wind up the driveway, past ancient gums to find a lush garden and landscaped terraces surrounding our family built sandstone barn. Over the years the Barn has experienced life as the farm shed, the vineyard workshop, the family home and the location for many a family celebration. Now home to our Tasting Room, our Ginkgo Restaurant and the location for many events and weddings, it remains at the very heart of all that we do here at Golding Wines.

We welcome visitors to our place seven days a week, offering wine flights, platters and cheese boards daily through our Tasting Room, and a lunch menu from Monday to Sunday through our Ginkgo Restaurant.

Whether you are visiting us for a wine tasting, a delicious Sunday lunch or an immersive vineyard experience we welcome you to experience the very best of the Adelaide Hills at our place.
