Tasting Notes

This parcel of Savagnin fruit from our Western Branch vineyard has been crafted in to a classic aromatic white wine style expressing vibrant tropical fruit notes.  On the palate you will find lemon and lime characters with hints of spice and texture that are characteristic of this versatile French variety.  Perfect to drink now or after a few years.

About The Variety
Savagnin is a French grape variety first thought to have been Albarinio when originally planted in Australia. Confused? So were we! In 2006 we planted a block of what we thought was Albarino, only to find out later it was actually the rare French varietal Savagnin (sah-vah-nyan) a white wine grape grown primarily in France’s Jura region.
